About Me
Hey, it's Kayla!
I'm a Fort Wayne, Indiana based freelance web designer with a love for color, design and storytelling.
I've been designing websites as a side-gig for 8 years now. I find so much joy in the creative process and love seeing a vision come together to meet my client's needs.
I'm a wife to Ben and mom of 3 boys ages 5, 8 and 11 (yes, it's as rowdy and fun as it sounds). But seriously, they're the actual sweetest boys, and I adore hanging out with them.
You'll find me often in the backyard attending my flowers, my husband and I frequenting Fort Wayne's local restaurants, and the 5 of us on outdoor hikes on the regular.
The Process
Here's what you can expect...

Intake
Once you decide to work with me (and we've agreed on a plan that's right for you), I'll do a full intake of what you're looking for in a website- content, design style, message/emotion conveyed, etc.

Review
I'll then present an outline of page and menu structure as well as fonts and color scheme for us to agree on, and will collect page text and photos you'd like me to use on your site.

Tweaks
Next, your website will be delivered as a first draft within the agreed upon timeframe, ready for tweaks and adjustments to your liking.

Delivery
Finally, you'll have a stellar website ready to go out and be who it was made to be in the world!

FAQs
What costs apart from design can I expect?
A URL will cost around $20 per year, while a web hosting platform will run around $20 per month for a basic plan. If you sell e-commerce, the charge will be higher, but most small businesses typically don't need more than the basic plan (a common misconception).
Professional photography is always a good idea, too!
What web design platforms do you have experience with?
I've built sites on Wordpress, Squarespace, Wix, Shopify and Weebly. I do believe, though, that once you've seen a few, you've seen 'em all. I'm confident I can work with any platform you might prefer.
Can you also help revamp or maintain my current website?
The short answer is, yes! Depending on the scope of work, we can agree on a plan of action and a pricing strategy that makes sense for both of us.
For basic ongoing maintenance, I typically charge $40/hour.
